What are freaks? Many people have different definitions that they use to determine who is a freak and who is not. Usually, a freak is somebody who does not adhere to societies determined norms. They may be someone who has a different style of thought, dress, or behavior than other people in a given community. Freaks are looked down upon and are rarely accepted by the majority of the population simply because they do not fit in with the rest.
Are You a freak? Some people believe they are when in reality they are no different than anybody else. Others continue to believe that they are "normal" while society deems them to be unusual or freakish. In my opinion, everybody is a freak. Nobody is perfect, and nobody follows all of the rules all of the time. And anyway, why would you realy want to be average or normal...living as a freak has many benefits in our current society. First of all, if you do something dumb, it is just excused because you are a freak. Also, people (at least open minded ones) will listen to your ideas and relate to them because they think you are coming from a different planet of thought. Of course, you can dress as you wish, think what you want, and be who you really are, without being judged any further.
The Internet has become a virtual breeding ground for people of a freakish nature. It is here that people can express themselves freely without being judged in any way. It has become a place where methods of thought and ideas can be expressed and shared, and it is very likely that persons with those beliefs will find each other and create internet communities. The vast array of concepts and thoughts available on the net is only a fraction of the amount of different ideas held. However, the fact that these ideas are posted for the world to see, and that people actually are interested in viewing these thoughts, reveals that people might be more open to freakish behavior than they are willing to reveal when they are out in the "real world". This virtual medium has allowed people the freedom to become who they really are, communicate and share with others who carry the same beliefs, and spread their ideas, no matter how odd, to others who may or nay not want to be exposed to them. This, in my opinion, is one of the true wonders of the web. Enjoy the advantages of being a freak!
